KEDRON PROJECT HOUSE

Architectural excursions into the project house market are often an unprofitable exercise for the architect and the builder. This house is an exception: sold within 7 days of listing. The design brief was prepared in house by research into the market from real estate and project development sources. The result is a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom house with media room and plenty of open living space located on the fringe of the inner city. The external form and finishes echo the 1950's dwellings within the suburb whilst the extensive use of high level glazing to the south facing walls provides a level of interior light far removed from the houses of an earlier time. The use of a traditional framed roof allowed for the inclusion of raked ceilings which combined with the elevated ceilings to the lower floor endows this house with a feeling of light and space.
